Makerspace Code of Conduct

The OCC Makerspace is open to all campus community members. It is intended to be a community learning environment that provides resources, tools, and work areas to allow for exploring, creating, discovering, and tinkering. To ensure a collaborative welcoming environment for all users of the space it is expected that everyone using the makerspace will follow the Makerspace code of conduct explained below. 

Makerspace Code of Conduct

  • The Makerspace is intended to be a place to learn and explore. Users are expected to conduct themselves in a safe and orderly manner at all times. The Makerspace has equipment and tools that when used improperly can result in injury. Users will comply with safety guidelines, attend training as appropriate, and obey the instructions of Makerspace employees.
  • Manufacturing products for commercial use is prohibited.
  • Due to college policy, weapons, weapon accessories, and replicas are banned from being produced at the Makerspace.
  • Follow policies for specific pieces of equipment. You can find links to these policies on the makerspace equipment page
  • When finished working on a project or machine, it is your responsibility to make sure that the machine and area around the machine is clean. Failure to do so can result in injury to yourself and others. Before using a machine, also, make sure the work area is clean.
