Kindness Rocks Garden

Kindness Rocks Garden

Would you like to paint a rock to add to our garden?

Coulter Library's rock painting station is available Wednesdays from 11am - 2pm. It is located near the Coulter TIME pillar on the second floor of the library.

The Visual Arts Resource Center (W251) also has rock painting supplies (Hours of operation are Monday-Wednesday 8am-10pm, Thursday 10am-10pm, Friday 10am-6pm and Saturday 9am-1pm).

Please include the hashtag #SUNYOCCrocks somewhere on your rock before adding to the garden or relocating elsewhere.

What can you do if you find a #SUNYOCCrocks rock?

Post a photo of the rock on Facebook, Twitter, or Snapchat with the hashtag #SUNYOCCrocks. Then either keep the rock, hide it somewhere, or return it to the Kindness Rocks Garden on the 1st floor of Coulter Library.

This activity is part of Coulter TIME (Think / Invent / Make / Explore), Coulter Library maker-related events & activities.

Survival in the "Wild": The Supply Box Challenge

Survival in the "Wild": The Supply Box Challenge

We hope you were able to attend our exciting Supply Box Challenge on April 5th and 6th, 2017! This challenge gave participants the chance to test out their problem-solving skills. Like Cheryl Strayed in the book  Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail participants were on the PCT trail, and with a storm quickly approaching they needed to get into their supply box before the storm arrived. With 25 minutes to find clues, solve puzzles, and decipher hidden codes to break-in to the supply box, time was of the essence!

Check out our Flickr page for pics from the event!

Presented in collaboration with the Honors Program, ARH/IND Department, Coulter Library, and Wild Common Read Committee
