Perspectives on the U.S. Criminal Justice System
This website is a forum where people (including prisoners, correctional
officers, and students) can share their opinions about the U.S. criminal
justice system, and debate topics. An open exchange of varying perspectives
is the goal of 360degrees. Also included on this site are a criminal
justice glossary, a list of videos and films, a timeline, and teaching
ideas.

Bureau of Justice Statistics (BJS)
This comprehensive website includes statistics in areas such as Crime
and Victims, Criminal Record Systems, Courts and Sentencing; also
included are an alphabetical list of BJS publications that are in
electronic form, a list of BJS Press Releases since 2000, and archived
press releases beginning in 1994.

Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI)
The FBI ( a department in the U.S. Department of Justice, http://www.usdoj.gov
) lists the top ten fugitives, the field offices located in major
American cities, ongoing investigative programs (and their websites)
such as Civil Rights and insurance fraud. There is a link to an FBI
site on Counter terrorism. The site includes many documents and reports
including the Uniform Crime Reports and other publications. There
is a history section which includes: "Directors Then and Now,"
and "Famous Cases." There is a form by which the public
may submit a tip to the FBI.

National Criminal Justice Reference Service (NCJRS)
This very useful website covers several major topics: Corrections,
Courts, Drugs and Crimes, International Criminal Justice, Juvenile
Justice, Law Enforcement, Victims of Crime, and Statistics. Most publications
included in these areas are those produced by the NCJRS; however,
some, such as theses are not. This website also includes information
on grants and funding.

Published by the School of Criminal Justice at the University of Albany,
this online journal "publishes reviews of all types of popular
culture artifacts and original essays pertaining to the intersection
of popular culture and criminal justice." Both current issues
and an archive from vol.1 ((1993) are included.

Western Criminology Review
Western Criminology Review (WCR) is the official journal of the Western
Society of Criminology. It is a forum for the publication of theory,
research, policy, and practice in criminal justice and criminology.
The publication and distribution of articles will also be accompanied
by electronic commentary and discussion.All past issues are archived
online starting with vol.1, 1998. The WCR is co-edited by Gisela
Bichler and Stephen Bichler of the California State University at
San Bernardino.

National Criminal Justice Association (NCJA)
Founded in 1971, the NCJA promotes the development of justice systems
in states, tribal nations, and local government that enhance public
safety and reduce effects of delinquent behavior. The association
publishes a monthly: Justice Bulletin which features analyses of Supreme
Court decisions, information about federal rules, and state trends.
The NCJA conducts seminars and workshops.
